State Best NGO 2006

TAPWA was selected as the best NGO for its relentless services to women and child welfare in the state of Tamil Nadu during the year 2006. The Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Dr.M.Karunanidhi delivered the award to Mrs.R.Pandiselvi, the Executive Director of TAPWA in recognition of the efforts on the eve of Indian Independence day during the year 2006.

Going Global Associate 2007

Edukans foundation, the Netherlands selected five NGOs in Tamil Nadu, TAPWA being among them for its “Going Global Program (GGP)” which emphasized the issue of child worker’s in India. 60 students and four teachers from various schools of the Netherlands studied the nature of child work, status of child workers and problems and causes etc., in TAPWA’s target area.

Star Achiever Award 2008

TAPWA, for its relentless efforts, was adjudged as the winner of STAR Achiever Award during 40th year celebrations of National Integrity Cultural Academy, Chennai on 19th October 2008. The recognition included a Gold Medal and appreciation certificate.

All India Radio Program 2009

All India Radio (AIR), Madurai broadcasted TAPWA’s Women Empowerment Program and Housing activities during the month of January, 2009. TAPWA’s women SHG members were interviewed and the program highlighted the importance of Self Help Groups in achieving success in women’s life.
